The Glen Arbor Township board continued debate last week around the potential $1.3 million purchase of the neighboring property owned by John Martin, which currently houses businesses such as L’Chayim Delicatessen and Dr. Bear Total Body Health Care.
The discussion during the board’s meeting May 19, centered around how the township could justify acquiring the property and whether board members could articulate the “compelling reasons” for the purchase.
“I personally think there’s more than one (compelling reason),” Treasurer Don Lewis said.
