The Village of Empire voted to approve up to $250,000 for the purchase of a new plow truck that had been discussed during the regular meeting in April. The current truck is 27 years old and is “at the end of its life expectancy.”
Council member Linda Chase spoke up wanting to take a moment to consider how high the price is but was quickly answered by Davis who called it “the cost of doing business,” and Bacon who said, “this plow truck benefits every single resident… we’re not acting irresponsibly at all.”
Council member Tom Rademacher commented “we can’t keep kicking the can down the road.”
