The Leland Township Board gave approval to authorize the supervisor to provide written notice to the Cypher Group to terminate the zoning administration services contract, effective Aug. 10, at its regular meeting on May 11.
This comes after the announcement of former longtime zoning administrator Tim Cypher’s passing on April 20, who faced a challenging health battle with cancer.
Leland Township Supervisor Clint Mitchell said he and township clerk Lisa Brookfield recently had a meeting with Tim Cypher’s son, Erinn, on the future of the company and what his intentions and expectations are as well as what’s working and what has not been particularly effective. Along with interest from Erinn to continue zoning administration work, Mitchell said Sara Kopriva of Beckett and Raeder, a landscape architecture, planning, engineering, and environmental services company that’s been working with the township, also voiced interest in zoning work.
