Here’s to the Class of 2026

Graduations commence this weekend

More than 100 students are expected to graduate from county schools in the coming weeks.

Leelanau County high school students will walk across the stage and into a new chapter of life over the weekend at multiple area schools.

Three of the four public school districts will graduate Sunday. The Northport graduation is set for Saturday, June 6.

Suttons Bay starts off the graduation festivities Friday at 6 p.m.

Norsemen graduates will enter a new phase of life as 22 graduates cross the gym floor.

Suttons Bay valedictorian is Megan U’Ren, and the Salutatorian is Gavin Schichtel.

Glen Lake, the county’s largest school, will hold graduation ceremonies for 46 students from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Lakers will be represented by valedictorian Darien Bootz and salutatorian Liam McCaw.

Leland will send its students to the Manitou Passage of life after graduating 33 students Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Comets will be represented by covaledictorians Lorna Wiesen and Eliza

Aldridge.

Lake Leelanau St. Mary will graduate 12 students Sunday from the St. Mary Church from 5 to 6 p.m.

The Eagles will have valedictorian Garrick Collin and salutatorian Cody Couturier give remarks.

Northport will graduate seven students this year, with five girls and two boys entering a new phase of their lives on Friday, June 6, from 4 to 5 p.m.

Northport Valedictorian Desiree Wetherbee and Salutatorian Cora Speer will speak at graduation.

The Leelanau School in Glen Arbor will celebrate graduation Saturday, June 6.
