Author Robert Downes will present a slide show on pre-European American civilizations, their rise and fall in the devastating “lost century” of the 1500s at 4 p.m., June 11 at Dog Ears Books in Northport.
Downes newest novel, “The Sun Dog” includes Iroquois culture and the fall of Coosa, a Native empire centered in Georgia.
A question and answer session will follow.
