Dunphey tapped for Empire V-C vacancy

In a 4-2 vote, with trustees March Dye and Meg Walton opposed, the Empire Village Council approved the appointment of Mark Dunphey to the vacant trustee seat for the remainder of the term during its regular meeting last week.

While three people applied for the position, Dunphey was the only candidate discussed May 26.

“I’m in favor of Mark Dunphey. He’s much younger and he’s got two teenage kids. He’d be the only one in this council that has kids of that age who bring a new cycle to the village. We haven’t had that in a long time,” council president Dan Davis said.
