Students in three of the four public high schools donned robes and caps Friday and Sunday for commencement ceremonies. More than 100 students are expected to graduate from county schools in the coming weeks.

The graduation festivities started at Suttons Bay Friday as students, faculty and parents packed into the auditorium. Twenty-two Norsemen graduates entered a new phase. Suttons Bay valedictorian Megan U’Ren and salutatorian Gavin Schichtel gave the class address. The Glen Lake High School Class of 2026 crossed the commencement stage Sunday afternoon in front of a packed audience filled with their loved ones and school community cheering them on. Superintendent Jason Misner welcomed family, staff and community members thanking them for their roles in the student’s lives. “Thank you for your trust and support from sometimes 14 years of your child’s life. You are the most important educators in your child’s life,” he said.

Leland sent its students to the Manitou Passage of life after graduating 33 Comets Sunday at 4 p.m., with co-valedictorians Lorna Wiesen and Eliza Aldridge representing the class.

Northport will graduate seven students — five girls and two boys — on Friday, June 5, from 7-8 p.m. Valedictorian Desiree Wetherbee and salutatorian Cora Speer will speak at graduation.
