Dick’s Pour House staff and patrons acted immediately to help revive a guest whose airway was completely obstructive while dining Saturday.
“In those critical moments, our staff and several patrons acted immediately, performing the Heimlich maneuver and doing everything they could to help. When those efforts were unsuccessful and the guest lost consciousness, an airway clearing device was used and successfully cleared the obstruction,” Dick’s Pour House said in a statement. “Because of the quick thinking, training, teamwork, and willingness of everyone involved to step up without hesitation, a life was saved. We are incredibly grateful to our employees, the patrons who jumped in to assist, and the first responders who arrived so quickly to help.”
This experience reinforced the Dick’s Pour House belief that preparation, training and teamwork matters.
