Sleeping Bear Noontiders begin 74th season

Now 73 years old, the Sleeping Bear Noontiders men’s lunch club met on June 10 at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church activity center to open their 74th summer season.

The Club appreciates, again this year, useof thecenter. JohnBruder,2026 club president, opened the meeting with remarks and introductions. Lunch followed, including a desert of the Club’s traditional cherry pie a`la mode. The 48 attending members were then treated to a comprehensive presentation by Tom Nelson, representing the Leelanau Conservancy, about the tremendous progress and enthusiasm surrounding the Sugar Loaf project, now that it is within the control of the Conservancy.
