‘New hope’

To the editor:

My heart has been reopened, and today, I have new hope for our country, thanks to the sentiments expressed by Barack and Michelle Obama during the dedication of his Presidential Library in Chicago.

Instead of name calling and belittlement, they expressed love for all Americans and a path towards goals we all should share. Instead of accusations and blaming others, they spoke of the process of continuing to work for equality, safety, and opportunity for all. Instead of incoherent texting and denying the truth, the Obamas expressed hope, optimism, and spoke of the path for America to return to the ideals that are expressed in our Constitution.
