To the editor:
Commissioners: I was disappointed to read the 6/11 issue of the Enterprise and the Ticker about the action taken against Administrator Dyer. It seems strange that a few employees are pushing allegations against him and yet he is kept in the dark as to the charges. This could be the basis of character assassination for a lawsuit.
It seems to me that in closed session, you could have resolved this issue by delegating inquiry to legal counsel in coordination with HR. You are entering a budget development season and now your administrator is laid off. After all, the turmoil started a few years ago over management of finances and streamlining the process by following the auditor’s guidelines. Now you are back to Square One with serious morale-breaking actions.
