How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful place that provides the abundance to create gardens that thrive every spring/summer? Very lucky, to put it simply.
This June, I’ve been keeping busy in the garden filling every open space possible with flowers galore before the season gets away from me. It’s a hobby I’ve gotten into for the last several years and one that I will always make time for.
As we all know, it was a long winter and a cold spring, so many of our flowers have been growing at a slower pace, especially if you didn’t have a warm, lit space inside your home/ greenhouse to get a head start on seedlings. Mom and I are especially excited about the baby boomer tomatoes and Hungarian peppers that have been steadily growing for months now. The warm heat we experienced for about a week or two in early June gave the tomatoes the boost they needed to surpass the boundaries of the cage I had originally planned placing around the plant, but I’m just happy to see the growth. Every time I spot a new stem sprouting up from the dirt, it’s just as exciting as seeing it for the first time three years ago when I went all in on my gardening journey/hobby.
