Leelanau County’s historic Poor Farm Barn will be the venue for some of the area’s finest musicians at a string of three fund-raising concerts beginning on Wednesday, July 15.
These Picnic Concerts are being organized by the Leelanau County Historic Preservation Society (lchp.org) to help fund the last big item needed to open the barn to wider community use — a set of bathrooms.
After almost 10 years of effort by over 100 contributors, volunteers, and contractors, the Poor Farm Barn may soon be a three-season community venue hosting educational programs, art exhibits, theater, music and other cultural events.
