Karner retires, GLA plans full-time biologist hire

The Glen Lake Association is preparing to say goodbye to Rob Karner, who is retiring after nearly 50 years with the organization, according to Kate Gille, the association’s executive director.

“Rob is a legendary, largerthan-life character,” Gille said.

“He gave so much to this organization for almost 50 years. He really led the way in lake associations, especially for the state — he was one of the first lake or watershed biologists to be hired by a lake association, and several have followed suit.”
