Lighthouse & Museum team up for America 250 bus tour

A new history bus tour will take Leelanau Township residents on a guided ride through Leelanau’s past, highlighting stories and sites that don’t come with roadside markers.The tour, part of the Grand Traverse Lighthouse’s America 250 celebration, is a partnership between the lighthouse and the Northport Area Museum. The first tour departs Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to noon, and tickets are $20 per person. The bus leaves from the Northport Area Museum, 118 Nagonaba St.

“We’re going to take people around the township and just share some of the history that you normally wouldn’t see or know without a guided tour,” said Stef Staley, director of the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.
