Board remains hush on Dyer; meeting Tuesday

Board remains hush on Dyer; meeting Tuesday

The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners went behind closed doors last week to discuss County Administrator Jim Dyer.
Michelle Crocker, Leelanau County Clerk, who is at the heart of this saga, sat in on the meeting due to it being a law to have a clerk present.
A unanimous motion was passed as the board accepted the findings of two investigative reports submitted July 9 (not available)  and June 16 (available). The board then wished to meet with Dyer, although no timetable was decided during the meeting.
Dyer broke his months-long silence after submitting a lengthy written response that denies wrongdoing last week.
The executive board meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14 at the county government center.
