Cypher continues as interim administrator

The Leelanau County Board of Commissioner appointed interim County Administrator Lauren Cypher to continue her duties for the time being at Tuesday’s meeting. 

The motion carried 7-0 and puts another wrinkle in the Leelanau County Administrator saga 

“I live here, work here, and am raising my sons here in Leelanau County. I am in this position at the pleasure of the BOC, and as long as they will have me I will dig in, work hard, and advocate for the employees and residents,” Cypher said. 

Cypher jumps into the fray after former county administrator Jim Dyer went on paid leave in June.

Dyer broke his months-long silence after submitting a lengthy written response that denies wrongdoing last week.
