‘Drive the speed limit’

To the editor:

This is addressed to our Leelanau summer tourists and visitors. Twiceinthepastweek I have had the frustrating experience of being in a line of traffic behind a car going 37 miles per hour on M 22, forcing every following car to drive at the same pace. The driver probably justified the slowness because he or she was looking at the scenery. Yes,itisbeautiful here in Leelanau County, and that is why we locals live here and endure winters when fairweather visitors choose to remain elsewhere.

We residents live here, work here, and organize our lives here, and so do our doctors, dentists, and veterinarians with whom we make appointments for ourselves and our pets. We need to get to work and appointments on time.
