A disturbing trend first noticed downstate and in other regions of the country has made its way to paradise — a pandemic within a pandemic — domestic violence. According to Leelanau County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) annual reports, the number of calls received for domestic disturbances have skyrocketed as COVID-19 drags into its second year. *** On February 16 Glen Arbor Township board members voted 4-1 to approve a rezoning request to the property to the south and adjacent from the township’s historic mill. The old gristmill was being renovated by owner Turner Booth who requested the neighboring Brammer property to be rezoned from residential to recreational, matching the mill’s zoning.
