To the editor:
For years, people In government, the media, and the general public have complained about toxicity at the Leelanau County Government Center. With the pending departure of Jim Dyer, one might think a new page was being turned at the government center. Unfortunately, judging based on comments made during the last Board of Commissioners meeting, some people’s favorite past time is still toxicity.
During public comments, a government employee’s spouse complained to the Board about a problem with that employee’s credit card bill. What responsible and reasonable adult consents to their spouse publicly complaining to their boss about workplace issues? Worse, a Commissioner amplified those complaints. Those are textbook examples of toxic behavior.
