The Leland Yacht Club will host the National One-Design Championship Regatta August 13-15, 2026, for the 24th time since 1950. Sailors are expected from Denver and Ireland, as well as from Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Local sailors include former Champions Biff Steel and Sara Makielski. This is the 90th anniversary year of the National One-Design class, designed
by William Crosby in 1936. Races are expected to begin at 10:30 am Thursday through Saturday off Nedow’s Bay, with the award ceremony Saturday afternoon.
