To the editor:
If you like ice cream — who doesn’t? — and veterans, please consider attending an Open House, Silent Auction and Ice Cream Social on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the VFW Hall in Lake Leelanau. Post and community members have been raising funds for more than two years in an effort to renovate the Hall, which was built by GIs after they returned from WW II. The county community has been very supportive, although more funds are needed to complete the job. You’ll have an opportunity to view progress made and offer a personal thank you to veterans for their service.
