The Northport Village Council voted 4-1 to approve a new resolution for ballot language of a millage proposition to levy a 1.24 mill tax for the replacement and reconstruction of the Mill Pond Dam.
The millage proposal will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
As noted in engineering reports over the last several years, the Mill Pond Dam faces deterioration of its existing structure, and its been recommended that substantial repair or replacement of the dam is needed.
