Leland boys soccer will be expecting everyone’s best shot this season as the Comets return to the pitch after capturing the 2025 MHSAA D4 state championship for the first time since 2019, bringing soccer glory back to northern Michigan.
“We’ve got four seniors; they’re all strong leaders … The team is excited to do their best to get back to where we were last year,” Leland coach Rob Sirrine said. “We have to take every game seriously because we know that everyone’s going to want a piece of us. The same thing happened in 2019. You are going to get the best game out of everyone.”
Leland beat North Muskegon 2-0 Wednesday to start the 2026 campaign as reigning MHSAA D4 State Champions.
