Lakers enter season with homegrown class

Glen Lake football heads into the 2026 season with redemption and defending on their mind as the Lakers venture into a gauntlet of a season.

For coach Jesse Smith, entering his fourth season, this fall marks a milestone: the first senior class that has spent all four years in a program he’s built from the ground up.

“This will be the first fouryear senior class, and this is just the first four-year freshman class,” Smith said. “We had our 7-on-7’s this summer and everyone has come in and it’s like night-and-day form. They come in and get to work.”
