I support the effort being undertaken by the Leelanau Housing Collaborative to survey our community about both the need for affordable workforce housing and possible solutions to meet that need. Recent stories in the Enterprise and Glen Arbor Sun, and more recently the Leelanau Ticker, underscore the importance of our community coming together to address this critical issue before we lose people who are essential to the health, safety and quality of life in Leelanau County but who are unable to afford living here. I encourage everyone who lives and/or works in Leelanau County to take the survey before September 15th, the date the survey closes, and make your views known.
