To the editor:
I like to define my terms and affordability is defined as; “the financial ability of a person, family, or group to pay for goods, services, or housing without going into extreme debt or losing the ability to pay for other basic needs. It compares what things cost against the income people earn.”
What cost $100 in 2019 is $131 in 2026. That means that a house that cost $200K six years ago costs at least $262K now. This inflation and loss of purchasing power can be pinned on the wild M2 money supply expansion and stimulus deficit spending by democrats during the Covid “planned-demic.” So anyone unable to find housing in Leelanau County today would be very wise to vote for the Republican Party this November. I sure will. Just saying. Sydney Bierman Fort Worth, Texas
