The Homestead welcomes East Bay Drive to it final show of the season, Sept. 9, at Music On The Mountain. The popular Traverse City smooth groove group will once again feature guest vocalist Miriam Pico for its 6:30 p.m. concert. The performance takes place atop the resort’s ski hill, with the sun setting over the sparkling waters of Sleeping Bear Bay as the backdrop.
David Chown, who plays keyboards in the group, says it has been working on several new songs which it hopes to play at The Homestead. “We’ve got five new tunes we’ve been rehearsing,” he says. The group intends to include them on its upcoming album alongside the tracks from its EP” Something Today,” which it released last year.
Chown says having a complete album demonstrates its abilities and professionalism to venues and festival organizers. He and the band are hopeful that will provide more opportunities for the group to perform and take its show on the road.
