The Leland girls golf team continues to grow as the Comets have thrown punches at early tournaments.
Leland started the season with an impressive showing at the Traverse City St. Francis Invitational at Grandview Aug. 20 as Leland junior Jaelyn Defour led the Comets with a seventh place finish out of 81 golfers.
“Early in the season, it was a little rough because I wasn’t used to golfing, but once I got out here and swinging the club, it’s been pretty good to get back into the rhythm, which has been fun,” DeFour said.
