Staff and administration at Leland Public School have been busy this summer preparing for the 2026/27 school year.
Classes resumed Monday with several new staff members. Delaney Klein and Arden Wilson will each teach combined first- and second-grade classrooms; Samantha Shallcross is the new high school English teacher, and Dawn Heartwell will lead our “Solving Space” classroom as a social-emotional learning and behavior specialist.
Along with the building’s annual deep cleaning, several facilities upgrades were completed this summer. New carpeting has been installed throughout the middle section of the school and in the Performing Arts Center. A new water treatment and filtration system was installed to provide cleaner, better-tasting water throughout the building.
