Peninsula chamber has big plans

The Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has a full slate of events on tap this fall, along with two new members joining the fold.

Upcoming events include: the Leelanau Maritime History Festival, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Leelanau Historical Society, featuring the 21st annual Jim Wenstrup Wooden Boat Show, vintage cars hosted by Van’s Garage, live Great Lakes music by Lee Murdock, a history program on speedboat legend Gar Wood, outdoor exhibits and a scavenger hunt by the Leland Township Library — free and open to all ages.

Ducks on Duty at Dune Bird Winery is a weekly Tuesday event scheduled for 1 p.m. through Sept. 8, where visitors can watch the winery’s ducks work the vineyard as part of its regenerative farming practices.
