Party unity in the ‘eye of the beholder’

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the same holds true for political party unity.

You may not have noticed it but for years in this state it was the state GOP that found itself hopelessly embroiled in an un-unified fight with itself.

This chapter goes all the way back to the presidential election when renegade Republicans from the Pat Robertson side of the GOP, staged their own rump convention in G.R. while the “real” GOP labored hard to knock down the opposition in favor of presidential candidate George Herbert Walker Bush. The exchange during this intense internal civil war was ugly at best and for “normal” Republicans heart breaking at worse.
