Real danger of income inequality

To the editor:

A letter-writer complains that a billboard—”People not Billionaires”—is unfair to billionaires, whose taxes fund the government, unlike the bottom 50% of taxpayers, “Democrats mostly, who kick in 2-3%.”

But the bottom 50% aren’t Democrats but an even mix of Republicans and Democrats. In fact, 31% of Republicans identify as working class, as opposed to 28% of Democrats (Gallup News). In other words, we’re all American people.
