The Eagles girls team are soaring into the final few weeks of the regular season after Lake Leelanau St. Mary notched two wins against conference opponents.

On Thursday, Feb. 1, St. Mary handled Grand Traverse Academy 62-18.

St. Mary senior Leah Fleis led with 18 points, nine rebounds, while junior Kyla Barnowski added 15 points, seven rebounds, and Delana Kirt tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds.

St. Mary junior Cathryn Mikowski added nine points; Della Bunek three points, nine rebounds, and six steals.

The Eagles traveled to Leland on Tuesday and came away with a 33-11 victory. Kirt remained streaky with 18 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Barnowski provided 10 points, seven rebounds, and five steals in the low scoring affair.

PORTAGERS GET BY COMETS Onekama hung on against a fiesty Leland squad on Friday night during a 68-63 battle as the Comets hit the road.

Leland junior Elli Miller had 21 points, while Onekama’s Ava Mauntler led with 28 points, and Addy Zeller with nine points.
