Drainage headaches across county

Drainage headaches are apparent in various Leelanau County communities, with reports of shoddy work, surprise tax bills, and damaged roads costing residents thousands of dollars.

Jim Cantwell and Kristy Burns, residents of East Lake Bluffs in Solon Township, presented to the Leelanau County Board Tuesday and had a lot to say about drainage issues that have damaged roads and cost residents thousands of dollars, and they asked for a refund of more than $30,000.

“We are paying the price,” Cantwell said.
