Plans for a telecommunications tower atop Braman Hill in Northport will not go forward after the Leelanau Township Board voted against the proposition at its regular meeting on Tuesday.
The board voted 3-2 to reject negotiating a lease option for the tower proposal.
Since the project was first presented in November 2025, the Leelanau Township board has been considering a proposal from the telecommunications tower company, The Towers, LLC. (Vertical Bridge), that would include the building of a 195-foot monopole located on property owned by the township at 9995 N. Morningside Drive in Northport.
