Fall color, crisp autumn and red wines come together next month as the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail welcomes guests back for Hunt for the Reds of October, Oct. 1-31.
Designed as a self-guided, month-long wine experience, Hunt for the Reds gives wine lovers the opportunity to explore participating wineries across the Leelanau Peninsula at their own pace while discovering the depth and variety of red wines produced in northern Michigan.
Throughout October, participating wineries will showcase a hand-selected red wine for event ticket holders to enjoy. From elegant cabernet franc and complex pinot noir to rich cabernet sauvignon, velvety merlot and distinctive red blends, the event highlights the impressive range of cool-climate reds being crafted across the Leelanau Peninsula.
Unlike a traditional singleweekend wine trail event Hunt for the Reds takes place throughout the entire month of October, allowing guest to create their own itinerary and experience the trail on their schedule.
Whether planning a fall getaway, a weekend wine tour or several leisurely visit throughout the month, guests have plenty of time to explore the peninsula and enjoy one of northern Michigan’s most beautiful seasons.
October also provides an unforgettable backdrop for the experience. Rolling vineyards, vibrant shades of orange and amber, charming Leelanau villages and views of Lake Michigan make the fall season an ideal time to discover the wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail.
Each $35 ticket includes a 2-ounce pour of a featured red wine at participating wineries, along with $10 in cork cash that an be used toward eligible purchases at participating locations.
Reservations are highly recommended and may be required for larger groups, as tasting room space varies by winery. Guests are encouraged to check individual winery hours and policies while planning their visits.
