Glen Arbor Township Board unanimously approved a $3.47 million budget for the Glen Lake Fire Department at its regular meeting Sept. 15 meeting, an 8.16% increase over the current fiscal year.
“Good majority of that increase is just the increased wages to the employees in the new contract,” GLFD Chief Bryan Ferguson explained.
The proposed budget includes tentative 5% annual pay increases under a new union contract that is still being finalized, along with higher health insurance costs that are expected to increase by about 10%.
