Old fishermen …

Howard Tanner, who lived to the age of 102, had plenty of time to ponder upon his life. One of the last pieces he wrote was a reflection on aging: “Each year I wade less. The streams are a little swifter, the banks a little steeper and the mud more sticky. One day, in the years ahead, I will go to one of my favorite trout streams, put on my gear, rig my rod, select my fly and wade downstream slowly around the first bend. Old fishermen never die, they just wade away.”
