Tensions flare at work session

Tensions flared Tuesday at the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners work sessions as the board crunches budget deadlines in October, which means plenty of changes to staff and funding.

A budget work session break led to an intense exchange between County Commissioners Rick Robbins and Will Bunek that spilled out into the other room.

The discussion was prompted by the proposed shuffling of the facilities department as interim administrator Lauren Cypher and Finance Director Rio Risbridger tighten the screws on a proposed budget that is coming due any day now.
