Leelanau’s rich farm heritage will be celebrated Sunday, from noon to 4p.m.at the Ruby Ellen Farm’s annual fall festival fundraiser.
Fun, free, family-friendly activities are planned. Museums highlighting farm life/families; demonstrations of cider pressing; rope making; wood turning; fiber arts; a petting zoo; antique vehicles; hiking trails; gardens;marketplace and a gift shop.
A farm-style pig roast mean will be served from 1 to 2 p.m. Cost is $25 for adults; $10 for children; a baked goods auction is set for 1:45 p.m.
The Rex Dobson Ruby Ellen Farm is located at 5946 S. Center Hwy. in Bingham Township and is a non-profit Heritage Farm in Bingham Township committed to preserving the area’s agricultural history.
The farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
