As people prepare for possibly another northern Michigan winter, the Leelanau Enterprise is now accepting entries for its annual snowfall contest.
Every year, hundreds of readers submit their guesses for the total snowfall for the winter season. Snowfall is accounted for from Oct. 15 through April 15, 2027. Entries with predictions are accepted through Nov. 11 by 5 p.m.
The popular contest is a hit among families and individuals in the area, including the Beelman family of Suttons Bay. Last year, Jay Beelman won the snowfall contest for a second year in a row, with a correct prediction of approximately 145.5 inches of snow for the 2025-26 winter season.
