Candidates seeking election to the Empire Township Board participated in a forum last week organized by the League of Women Voters Leelanau County (LWVLC).
Three person are seeking two trustee seats on the township board. They are former county commissioner and board member, Casey Noonan; Leelanau School English and humanities teacher Elizabeth Woltering, who was appointed to trustee position after board resignations; and Christine Deucher.
Noonan and Woltering are currently serving as board trustees. Both participated in the LWVLC forum Sept. 21 at the Empire Township hall. Deucher did not.
