Elmer’s Crane and Dozer was awarded a bid of $248,556 by the Empire Village Council for a long-planned Lake Street drainage project.
Empire Village Council approved the bid at its regular monthly meeting last week.
Even though the bid came in about $100,000 over the project’s original budget estimate, it was the lower of the two presented. The project pairs the Lake Street work with a broader storm water mitigation effort tied to a road commission drainage project on Wilco Road, intended to address chronic flooding that has, in past storms, sent enough water down Lake Street to cover the road completely.
