Winery hidden gem

To the editor:

We recently moved to Leelanau County. While we anticipated and are enjoying the beauty, lake, and wonderful agricultural markets, we have also been amazed by a number of hidden gems for dining, most recently Brengman’s family winery. Last Thursday night, we enjoyed dinner (shrimp scampi, brined chicken) and wine from a wonderful bistro menu that was higher quality food and more reasonably priced than many area restaurants. We were amazed that the bistro wasn’t more crowded and wanted to write to share our appreciation of this under radar experience.
