Glen Lake’s rushing game came alive Friday in a 33-0 senior night win over Frankfort.
The Lakers posted their second shutout of the season behind two interceptions from senior defensive back Max Galla.
“We had a great week of practice this week. We had a great game plan going in. We knew it was going to be a tough one,” Galla said. “We got it done and played our best game of the season so far.”

Glen Lake (5-2, 4-1 Legacy) jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead after senior quarterback Parker Robinson found senior Dominic Stein on a pop pass for a touchdown with two seconds remaining.
The Lakers turned Frankfort (5-2, 4-1 Legacy) over on its best chance of the night at Glen Lake’s 1-yard line when Galla intercepted a Panther pop pass.
“I saw the tight end and read the quarterback all the way through it, so I turned to the tight end, and he threw a jump ball and I went up and got it,” Galla said.
The interception set up an 86-yard rushing touchdown by Glen Lake junior Ben Diotte, giving the Lakers a 13-0 lead.

Galla started the scoring for the Lakers early in the first quarter off a 5-yard run.
Galla snagged his second interception of the night while patrolling center field and returning it inside of Frankfort’s 30-yard line.
“We had three deep men, and I saw them run the post across, and my coach was telling me all week to sit on it,” Galla said. “We had two tough losses, and I think our team was kind of down, but this win definitely got us going again, and we're going to be coming back firing on all cylinders.”
Diotte would score from two yards out to take a 27-0 lead.
After both teams traded possessions, Glen Lake junior Levi Wetmore ran nearly 60 yards to the Panther 3-yard line, then scored off a quarterback power to take a 33-0 lead with 6:47 left in the fourth.
“I'm super proud of the boys of that senior class … It was a big game. It was a rivalry game. The coaches did a great job planning the offense and defense and the boys executed. This was a big week for the program,” Glen Lake coach Jesse Smith said.
The Panthers travel to division-leading East Jordan Friday at 7 p.m., and the Lakers travel to Benzie next week before hosting Tawas on senior night Friday, Oct. 23.
