Leland closed out its regular season with a 4-0 win over Suttons Bay Monday, earning a road shutout before turning its full attention to the postseason.
Despite the final score, Leland coach Rob Sirrine said the matchup would never be easy.
“It’s a tough conference, and it’s always tough playing here,” he said. “It’s their home field, so it’s a battle.” Leland senior Jose Roman opened the scoring for the Comets, finishing a corner kick from Liam Sweeney to give the team an early lead.
