To the editor:
I won’t vote for Abdul El-Sayed because he is a selfavowed practicing Muslim and I am a free Christian American woman. Abdul is a faithful servant of a religion which promotes the physical and mental abuse and torture of women! Under Islamic Sharia law a woman must be covered head to toe in public and cannot venture outside of her home without a male chaperone and then only once or twice a month. She may be slapped and beaten at her husband’s whim and has no legal rights or, indeed, any human rights at all. She receives only a rudimentary education. She may not drive a car or even have any personal funds. She is subject to forced marriage with no right to divorce her abuser. Her husband may have 3 other wives! She is livestock, property and could be killed in the name of family “honor.” So unless Abdul is simply a liar, then he supports these human rights violations against women. And if you’re a woman and vote for Abdul, then you might want to have your head, and values, examined. Mike Rogers respects women and our American way of life, so he has my vote.
