Upside down

To the editor:

For generations, America stood as a defender of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. We were imperfect, sometimes hypocritical, but our commitment to freedom helped define our nation’s place in the world.

Today, under the current administration, that commitment is being turned upside down.
