A Leland Township resident is being charged on one count of filling, draining of dredging of a wetland without a permit.
Vincent Tomczak, 71, was arraigned Tuesday in 86th District Court, according to a press release from the state Attorney General’s office.
Tomczak allegedly dredged and filled between one and two acres of protected wetlands property beginning in 2023. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) sent multiple site violation notices and restoration orders, contacted Tomczak directly over the alleged violations, visited the site multiple times, and in 2024 executed a search warrant at Tomczak’s property.
